Serve Day 2010

     ANDA partnered with the Argentine Betterment Corporation, YouthFront and the neighborhood groups in the Argentine area to organize the activities for Serve Day 2010.  ANDA’s staff met with community leaders prior to the event to help coordinate the projects that needed to be done and organize the volunteers with the community leaders at the event.   More than 100 people volunteered to participate in this special event.


HERE IS WHAT WE WORKED ON

  • Clean and Sweep “downtown” retail area on Strong Avenue
  • Clean empty lots so volunteer mowers can keep them neat
  • Spring yard cleaning for elderly residents
  • Clean out illegal dumping in several sites
  • Clean out alleys

     The improvement of the area was amazing but the most important outcome was the interaction between the community residents and the volunteers.
