A widow living in Argentine on a modest income and working part time for ANDA learned of the Kansas Appliance Replacement Program through her work for ANDA. She informed Argentine residents of the program and assisted some of them completing and mailing their applications. Through this work she learned that she could apply to replace her 12 year old bottom of the line furnace and AC. Since her furnace was not working properly she decided to apply. High energy efficient units were installed in her home before the cold weather of the fall of 2009 arrived. She has used her knowledge of assistance programs through her work for ANDA to help the Argentine residents and herself live in decent affordable housing with more energy efficient homes.
